  • Interior and exterior latex, alkyd, enamel and oil-based paints
  • Porch, floor and deck paints
  • Interior and exterior varnishes and urethanes
  • Primers, undercoats, block fillers and sealers
  • Marine enamels (must not contain pesticides)
  • Wood finishing oils and stains
  • Rust paint, decorative metal paints
  • Fence and barn paints
  • Aluminum paints
PAINT AEROSOLS
  • Latex
  • Alkyds

What’s OUT:
  • Empty paint cans*
  • Bulging or unlabelled cans
  • Roof patch, tars, grease
  • Solvents (e.g., paint thinner or Varsol®)
  • Paints containing pesticides (e.g., marine anti-fouling paint and wood preservatives)
  • Craft and art paints
  • Automotive and marine paints
  • Industrial and traffic paints
  • Two-part epoxies
  • Paint containing polychlorinated biphenyl’s (PCBs) or lead
  • Drywall filler
  • Glues and adhesives
  • Deck cleaners
  • Lacquers
  • Corrosive products
  • Stir sticks, brushes, rags and rollers

* Most municipalities accept empty paint cans as regular garbage if the paint is dried and the lid is removed.
